Big day for Caileigh as she gets her ear tubes in. Of course, we had a huge snowstorm last night so we weren't sure what the roads would be like. But all was well and we waited until 1pm to go to the hospital. Caileigh did great in the morning, no complaining about not eating. We got the hospital and she brought her elephant and had no problem walking into the OR all by herself. Quite the difference from last year when I had to walk with her and hold her hand when they put her under. John was relieved b/c it was his turn!
So while we waited the anesthesiologist told us he heard a heart murmur while he was checking Caileigh out. He said it probably was nothing but we should get it checked out anyway. So another appointment on our list.
But then the ENT came back and said everything went well and she will be up soon. About 30 mins later she was up eating a popsicle and smiling. Again, what a change a year & a different procedure makes!! We left about an hour later and no complaints from Caileigh! Phew!
And our little one year old had her 1 year appointment today as well. She's 18 lb 12 oz and 28 inches. Slightly down in percentile in weight but still about 25th percentile in height. She sure feels like she's heavier but I'm sure the multiple ear infections over the fall affected her weight. Clean bill of health otherwise. So what's our 1 year old been doing?
Standing & balancing, but not really walking;
Crawling like crazy, and has a particular attraction to the toilet;
Still eating everything & anything & mostly drinking from a cup vs bottle;
loves playing with her toys from Christmas (esp. the puppy) but also her stand up toys and anything Caileigh is playing with;
loves to share whatever is in her hands by saying "eh" and handing it to you;
loves to start tossing her food over her highchair when she is finished eating;
loves to dance by shaking her middle and her butt!
