Well I''m sad to report that this site is shutting down as of August 1st. Thanks for being loyal followers of the Duffy girls'' lives (whoever you are!). I''m trying to find a new site and will forward that link but in the meantime I probably won''t add too many pictures as of February 1st. I want to but a copy of the whole site as is so I don''t want to keep adding pictures to it. You can always check out John on facebook and he''ll keep you informed !!
Well poor Keira still has an ear infection and she''s needs tubes now too so she''ll go next Friday to get them. She was a trooper at the doctor''s today, they all loved her and she just smiled for everyone!
Sorry its been so long since I''ve updated, life has been hectic since Keira''s birthday. First her party and then both girls were sick. Finally everyone seems to be on the mend so we are looking forward to getting into our winter routine. Speaking of, Keira had her first swim "lesson" (otherwise known as get in the water with mom and get wet) today at the YMCA. She really liked being in the water - just like her sister. Unfortunately, I thought it was at 9:30 and it started at 9 so we were late but nonetheless, she still enjoyed it.
Then it was off to take Caileigh to gymnastics which she enjoyed as usual. Tomorrow Caileigh goes to the Byham to see "Don''t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" with Jack and Daddy (ha ha!). Well since he was skiing all yesterday I get to stay home with Keira.
I''ll go back and update what I missed and upload lots of pictures!
Quick check at the cardiologist yesterday and all is well with Caileigh''s heart murmur - its innocent so nothing to worry about. She had a echo done at the office b/c she actually has 2 murmurs but both turned out fine. And Caileigh did wonderfully esp. when they had to attach all those leads to her chest. No big deal for her!
And Keira started in the toddler 1 room today! Unfortunately she didn''t get to transition at all b/c she was sick last week but she did great! They only take one nap but she fit in another quick one in the morning her teacher said. I''m not surprised since she''s been sick. But other than that she fit right in - other than the fact that she refuses to walk! Oh well, hopefully those toddlers will encourage her to start!
Day off for Daddy & the girls! Thank goodness b/c they both needed another day to make sure they got over their coughs and colds. Both are doing much better. Now John & I have it so that''s fun. Oh well, it wouldn''t be January without someone getting sick!
Ugh what a day! Both girls are sick with bad coughs. Thankfully it seems that Keira''s is a bit better and her antibiotics are helping but both girls are simultaneously hacking! No one is getting much sleep, I just hope Caileigh''s doesn''t get worse.
And of course, its been a few weeks so of course someone has to get sick . First Keira has been battling on and off fever for a few days and it got up to 104 so off we go to the doctor today. Of course she has another double ear infection which makes 4th in 5 months so we''ll see the ENT at the end of the month. Hopefully the medicine will help Keira and she''ll be on the mend soon. Thank goodness for Grandpa who can come over and watch her this week!
Keira''s First Birthday Party!!
What a day! Despite a slight fever on and off Keira had a great time. She loved all the gifts and especially liked the cake! A perfect day for her to take her first real steps (and hasn''t really since!) and of course she went for the money instead of the rosary & whiskey (that''s my girl!).
Big day for Caileigh as she gets her ear tubes in. Of course, we had a huge snowstorm last night so we weren''t sure what the roads would be like. But all was well and we waited until 1pm to go to the hospital. Caileigh did great in the morning, no complaining about not eating. We got the hospital and she brought her elephant and had no problem walking into the OR all by herself. Quite the difference from last year when I had to walk with her and hold her hand when they put her under. John was relieved b/c it was his turn!
So while we waited the anesthesiologist told us he heard a heart murmur while he was checking Caileigh out. He said it probably was nothing but we should get it checked out anyway. So another appointment on our list.
But then the ENT came back and said everything went well and she will be up soon. About 30 mins later she was up eating a popsicle and smiling. Again, what a change a year & a different procedure makes!! We left about an hour later and no complaints from Caileigh! Phew!
And our little one year old had her 1 year appointment today as well. She''s 18 lb 12 oz and 28 inches. Slightly down in percentile in weight but still about 25th percentile in height. She sure feels like she''s heavier but I''m sure the multiple ear infections over the fall affected her weight. Clean bill of health otherwise. So what''s our 1 year old been doing?
Standing & balancing, but not really walking;
Crawling like crazy, and has a particular attraction to the toilet;
Still eating everything & anything & mostly drinking from a cup vs bottle;
loves playing with her toys from Christmas (esp. the puppy) but also her stand up toys and anything Caileigh is playing with;
loves to share whatever is in her hands by saying "eh" and handing it to you;
loves to start tossing her food over her highchair when she is finished eating;
loves to dance by shaking her middle and her butt!
Happy New Year!! I can''t believe 2009 has come and gone by so quick! This time last year we were making final preparations for baby Duffy''s arrival!
We had lots of fun last night with the Ryans and Marchiones! Everyone won their fare share of Tripoley games and the kids had a great time running around all night. Neither girl made it to midnite although Keira was slightly awake when the ball dropped. As I said last year she was sleeping in my belly and this year she was sleeping ON my belly as the new year arrived!
We wish everyone a healthy and happy New Year! I know we are looking forward to lots of fun exciting times with family & friends!
