Tale of Two Sisters & A New Brother

Keira had another doctor visit today - her two month appointment. She's doing great, right on the 50th percentile for weight and height. She's 10 lbs 11 ounces and a smidge over 22 1/2 inches long. Poor kid got two shots and an oral vaccine as well :(.

Is what Keira said when she was free from her harness today!! She was happy as can be kicking her legs. She still has to wear it at night for another month but the doctor said her hip is fine- yay!

Happy Baptism Day Keira! What a special day for Keira. It didn't start out so great as she screamed and cried all morning but she did great in church. Father Joe came back to baptise Keira just as he did with Caileigh. She slept and then when she woke up she just looked around and smiled for pictures! God must be smiling on her because we had a beautiful day !

Two Months Old !! And what did we do? Well we went to get Caileigh's haircut and then visited Daddy at his office! And surprise! We met Aunt Amanda and Grammy for lunch too! Keira was so good, she just smiled and laughed the whole time!

Yay March! Spring is finally getting close! Caileigh is getting better every day from her adenoids procedure, trying to be brave with the ear drops. Its hard to see her so out of sorts and crying all the time, its like the 2 yr old tantrums all over again!

Little Miss Keira is doing well, sleeping anywhere from 4-6 hours at a stretch at night which is nice for Mom! She has her big baptism on Saturday so we'll finally be able to take her out of the house (ha ha!).

Thanks for all your prayers for Caileigh - her procedure went well and she is getting back to herself. She had a rough time in recovery trying to calm down but did much better when she got home. She is not a fan of the ear drops though so hopefully she'll get used to them.

And the 2 week countdown is on for Keira to get out of her brace! The dr said her hips seem good and no more clicking. He also said, "boy she doesn't miss many meals does she"!! Those legs are getting chunky!

Well all the teasing about Caileigh snoring will soon stop because she's getting her adnoids out next Friday. Our visit to the ENT revealed she has enlarged adnoids which prevent the fluid in her middle ear from draining & in turn caused her hearing loss among other things. But it should stop her snoring, her runny noses and improve her hearing! So please keep her and the doctors in your prayers next Friday for a smooth procedure.

Well thanks to her older cousin Meghan, Caileigh's favorite phrase has become "I popped your personal bubble" which she likes to say while shaking her head and her finger at you and adding a hip shake for good measure. What it means, no one except 7th graders are sure. Its either that or "hey sista!" coupled with the
"Alligator Crocodile" cheer - we'll try to catch that on video.

And little miss Keira is smiling all the time now! She's looking all around when you talk to her too. She's doing good with her brace - only 3 1/2 more weeks to wear it!

Well "pukey" I mean Caileigh is doing better just a small ear infection. Keira meanwhile is now 9 lbs 6 oz and a little over 21 inches! She's in the 50th percentile for height and weight. Way to go Keira!

I know this site is for Caileigh and Keira news but today I wanted to add that its been 17 years since my dad passed away. 17 years, almost as long as I knew him. Seems like a lifetime but also like yesterday. Love you dad!

Busy weekend here mostly doing puke laundry. Caileigh got hit with a bug Thursday night and spent most of the night throwing up poor kid. She felt better Saturday but it came back again tonite so hopefully it will pass soon.

Happy 10 year anniversary to Grammy & Pap Pap!!

Guess who's a month old? Yep already little Keira has passed the one month mark! She didn't do much for her big day except the usual newborn things like eat, sleep & poop!

GO STEELERS!!
We had a Steeler party for the Super Bowl and Caileigh helped decorate with streamers and balloons and waived her Terrible Towel the whole game. She was disappointed that she didn't get to go to the Super Bowl this time (and so was Keira!). Don't tell the Rooneys but every time we have a baby the Steelers win the Super Bowl!!

Well Keira had her first professional photo shoot today. Darla (Riveting Edge Photography) came out to the house and took all kinds of pictures of Keira and Caileigh. Caileigh did an awesome job posing for Darla and helping out with Keira! I posted a few of the early proofs she sent us and can't wait to see the rest!

Well poor Keira has to wear a harness brace for 6 weeks and then 4 more after that when she sleeps in order to fix her hip. She doesn't seem to mind much but Mommy sure does!

Caileigh is having lots of fun at preschool these days. She learned the "days of the week" song and sings it all the time. She is doing a great job helping with Keira's baths ans diaper changes. She was especially excited when she got to help Daddy give Keira a bottle the other day instead of Mommy feeding her.

Well "little Keira" is not so little anymore! At her appt today she weighed 8 lbs 4 ozs! Up from 6 lbs 8 ozs just a little over 2 weeks ago. WOW! Her hip is still out of the socket from her birth so we have to see an orthopedist and get an ultrasound. She may have to wear a brace for awhile.

Meanwhile Caileigh's ears looked fine so hopefully the fluid is gone and we'll wait to see the ENT in a few weeks. She does seem to be hearing better or maybe she's just listening to us now ;).

Busy morning for us as we went to the library for storytime for Caileigh. Then we read a few more books, colored a bit, went to lunch, the drs, post office and got the car washed! Everyone was happy to nap when we got home!!

Well today was Keira's first official outing with everyone and we went to Aunt Bridget's house for Patrick's birthday party! Just like her sister did 3 years ago when she went to Big Joe's birthday party Keira slept the entire time! Never even opened her eyes! And now she's up so its off to bed for mom!

We're back to the pediatrician's tomorrow for both girls so will update with news after their visit!

Well its been a few weeks but having a new baby around is alot of work (says Caileigh!). Keira and her big sister are both doing well. We've had lots of visitors and everyone has been so generous - we can never thank you enough! More pictures to come soon!

Welcome baby Keira Marie!
I am so excited! What a great day ! Baby Keira was 6 lbs and 13 ounces and 19.5 inches long. Everyone said she looks just like me! Thank you everyone for your prayers, God is certainly good to our family!

Happy New Year!! Sorry no updates in awhile, its been a whirlwind couple of weeks! Today we went sledriding with my cousins at the golf course near our house! Check out the video of my daddy going really fast down the hill! It was the best time!

Wow I am so tired! Its been a crazy couple of days since Christmas. Friday Grammy, Pap Pap, Aunt Ashley, Amanda, Charlie & Jason came over to celebrate Christmas! I got all kinds of rooms for my dollhouse and a miniature golf set! Did I tell you I fell down the steps in our house? Yep, and my mom and dad didn't catch me either! But I was ok.
Then Saturday we went to Great Pap Pap's house for a spaghetti dinner! Everyone was there even Murphy and Hunter the dogs ! It was 70 degrees today so we could go outside with no coats on! I got all kinds of nice gifts from Great Pap Pap, Aunt Sheila & Aunt Darlene too!

Merry Christmas!! What a great day for Jesus' birthday!
Daddy and I slept in but mom woke us up b/c she said Santa came and left gifts, and he did! A dollhouse, a basketball hoop, a jewelry box, a leotard for gymnastics, puzzles, a dress & all kinds of things! Santa was sure good to me this year!

After we played with all my toys, we went to Aunt Kellys to celebrate Christmas! I got a backpack with books from Aunt Kelly and puzzles from Brady & Dudley! Then after we opened up gifts we sang some carols like "Rudolph" !

Merry Christmas Eve! First Mommy and I went to the doctors to check on the baby and then to breakfast at Eat & Park. It was a real dreary rainy day so we didn't stay out very long. Once Daddy got home from work we went to Great Grandma's house to celebrate Christmas. I got all kinds of neat things like a geo train track, a Princess lamp and clothes! We watched some Christmas movies and after dinner sang carols ! Check out the video of everyone singing!

Then we went to church with the Marchiones and had cookies after but only for a little while b/c we had to get home to get to bed and wait for Santa! We left lots of cookies, milk and carrots for the reindeer. Then when Mommy & I were upstairs I heard the reindeer's bells ringing! We went to bed really fast but I left my door open so Rudolph could come in and kiss my nose!

What a fun weekend we had with all my cousins and my mommy's cousins in Michigan! I watched movies in the car on the way up with Sydney. Then we got to the hotel and I went swimming and had a great time! I kicked and used my arms and swam to the wall.

Saturday we went to Aunt Mary's house for a big party. Santa came and I didn't sit on his lap but I did shake his hand and tell him what I wanted for Christmas. I got the Cooties game from Santa and played it with Kaeli Shea and Jack. I was tired when I got home because we stayed up late all weekend!

Guess who visited my house tonite? Yep, Santa's helper! My mom told me he was coming to check and see how I was doing but I still cried and cried when he came to the door! I just thought he would be little like the Santa in Rudolph's movie? The best part was he brought me my own copy of Rudolph so we don't have to borrow the Rodger's anymore!

The tree is in the house!! Mommy, Daddy and I picked the perfect tree and then Daddy chopped it down. It was really cold outside but the hot chocolate warmed me up!

Daddy put all the lights on and I helped with all the ornaments. Then we borrowed the Rodger's tape of Rudolph and I watched it for the first time!

Time to start putting up Christmas decorations! My nativity sets are up in my room and downstairs, and daddy put up our little tree. We are going to get a real tree next week! And tomorrow I get to open the first door of my Advent Calendar! I got to sleep over Aunt Kelly's last night and we made gingerbread houses with candy on them. I think I ate most of the candy ! Back to school tomorrow - boo!!

What a fun day we had with all my cousins, Grandma Erika, Grandpa Chuck and my aunts & uncles! Too bad mommy and daddy were so crazy about the turkeys b/c they tasted really good! And my cousins got to sleepover so we had a really fun time!

Happy Birthday Grammy! Have fun in Aruba with Pap Pap, Aunt Amanda/Jason, Aunt Ashley & Charlie! We'll miss you!

Today was my Grandma Burke's birthday! She would have been 77 years old. We were supposed to go to church but I didn't go b/c I was coughing all night and have a cold. I hope I feel better for Thanksgiving coming up!

What an exciting day! My new furniture arrived for my room so the new baby can have my old furniture. I got a new bed, dresser and end table and Daddy put a chair rail up in my room and Mommy painted letters to spell my name. It looks great - soon we'll post pictures once we find the battery for our camera!

This weekend we were in Deep Creek, MD with my Pap Pap's side of the family. Poor Mommy woke up not feeling good at all so she wasn't too happy but I had a great time. At first Murphy the dog scared me a bit b/c he likes to jump but I loved watching him jump in the lake to catch the ball! I really liked Oreo (cousin Erin's dog), he was smaller and didn't jump as much. My favorite part of the trip was jumping on the beds! Then when we left, more snow so I was excited to eat it !

When I woke up this morning there was snow on the ground! Not alot but I was excited to wear my hat and mittens so I could touch and eat it! Check out the pictures my dad took on the way to school. (Do you think we should put away the slides in our backyard ??). My mom also added a few pictures she took of me last year when it snowed for the first time on November 16th (does my coat and pants look familiar!). But something is missing in the 2007 pictures - do you know what it is?

Just a quick update about the weekend and a new picture to share! We went to Aunt Amanda's shower at Grammy & Pap Pap's house and I was having so much fun playing golf in the house. Hitting the ball back and forth and showing off my skills. A few times the ball went under their coffee table and I would dive under the table to get it - no problem. Well one time my head and the corner of the coffee table met and it was disaster from there. It was much worse than the picture shows but is much better now!

I cried alot but felt better in a little while and even beat Grammy, Jason and Amanda in candyland!! Ha--ha--ha ha ha! I winned!

Sunday I ordered new furniture for my room! It will come on a big big truck in 2 days (err weeks!).

Boy, I'm really tired from working so hard. Daddy and I have been busy painting the new baby's room, and I helped Mommy paint the letters that are going in my room. Then we went outside and raked even more leaves (have you seen the pictures of our trees?). OK so I spent most of my time jumping in them but I still worked hard!

And I'm so excited about my new "feety" pajamas ever since I saw Jack in them I wanted a pair. I wear them every night now even if its not too cold out!

Happy Halloween!! What an exciting day! I wore my Cinderella costume all day with Grandpa, even to Wendys for lunch! Then daddy came home and we went all around the neighborhood and I got lots and lots of candy. I only ate a few pieces before bed and saved the rest for tomorrow!

More swimming at the Y today but the water was pretty cold so we didn't stay in very long. Mommy went to the Steeler game so Daddy & I stayed home and napped, finished painting the yellow walls in the baby's room and had a picnic right in the middle of the living room for dinner!! Chinese food- yay!!

The Brook Park Halloween Parade was today and the North Allegheny band was there and lots of fire trucks! I dressed up as Cinderella but my I didn't keep my crown on very long. Daddy pulled me in the wagon most of the parade route but once we got to the end with all the cookies, I hopped right out!

Then we carved pumpkins and mommy made me put my hand in the pumpkin guts - ewwww!! I didn't like it but I do love pumpkin seeds!

Today I saw my first movie at the movie theater! High School Musical 3! Not what you may have expected but all my cousins were going so Aunt Kelly and Aunt MK took me too. I didn't know any of the songs (after all they weren't 'Laurnie' Berkner!) but I had lots of fun eating pretzels and watching the show. Then I slept over my cousin's house and we watched a Franklin movie before bed !

Pumpkin Patch Fun!!
Today we went with the Ryans to Reilly's Farm to go on a hayride and pick out our pumpkins! Then we roasted marshmallows, got our faces painted and went down a really steep slide! I picked out a big and small pumpkin to put in 'my' yard!
Gymnastics was fun today too - I did a somersault all by myself!
