Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there especially my dad who I still miss so much after 20 years!
I'm so thankful for John who is a wonderful father!

We started the day in typical fashion - Eamon up most of the night so John was kind enough to get up early with him and they sat outside on the deck until about 8:30. The girls were excited to give him their gifts which included all homemade goodies from Caileigh which she made at school like a book, ice tea in a mug and a "dinomite" clip for the fridge! Awesome!

Then while eating breakfast she lost her front tooth -- FINALLY! She was beginning to look like "Nanny McPhee" Thanks to Keira who said "Caileigh you don't have a front tooth". She was very excited and later after dinner LOST ANOTHER ONE! this time the lower left. Two teeth in one day - way to upstage dad on Father's Day!

Poor Eamon seems to be getting a cold which I'm sure will be followed by another ear infection. Hopefully it won't get too bad since we leave on Friday for Philadelphia & Sesame Place!

First Swim Meet

Caileigh's big day - her first swim meet at Franklin Ridge. She was pretty nervous but seem to be excited too. Wasn't thrilled about wearing the cap but she did the whole time. Her first event was a 25m free style relay & she was the first one. So she got ready to dive off the block and ..... jumped! That's ok, pretty typical for the little kids. But then she swam the whole way strategically keeping her head out of the water! Who knew what she was thinking or doing but we all got a laugh out of it!

Her coach Sara said "you need to get her some goggles" and I said "she needs to put her head in the water first!". So Sara said "way to go Caileigh - next time I want you to put your face in the water" Caileigh nodded enthusiastically.

So the next one was another freestyle relay & this one she started in the water. You could tell she was excited to swim again & she did great - face in the water and kicking like a fish!

The last one (after a short break and half a walking taco) was just the individual 25m free and she swam in the 2nd heat and beat 2 people! Overall - a great night, she said "I'm going to swim next year". Lets hope we get through this year first!
