Tale of Two Sisters & A New Brother

My first Christmas!! Last night we went to Grandman Butera's house and I got all kinds of neat presents like ornaments and a Steeler's cheerleading outfit! I was pretty cranky but then I slept all through mass.

On Christmas mommy & daddy opened presents while I watched. I got a neat baby Einsten block that plays music - I smile when I hear it! Then we went to Aunt Kelly & Uncle Joes and boy was it crazy! All my cousins had their gifts and toys and I was tired. I slept alot!

The next day Grammy, Pap Pap, Aunt Ashley and Charlie came over and brought these big toys for me! Mommy and Daddy said they need a new house to put everything in!

Then the next day (boy Christmas is a long time!), I went to Great Grandma Duffy's house for a spaghetti dinner (I just had milk!). Everyone held me & I fell asleep on Great Grandma. It was nice to meet all my great aunts & uncles and cousins!!

Today I had my two month appointment to get my first shots! I weighed 9 lbs 8 ounces (which is what my cousin Joe weighed when he was born!). The dr said that is still ok but mommy is still worried! Ouch did those shots hurt! I cried alot (kind of like the time mommy dropped the video tape on my nose!).

I'm two months old today!!

This weekend I went to Michigan to visit my great aunts and uncles and cousins. I was pretty cranky the whole time but that's because I didn't sleep very well. I met another girl named Caileigh (except she spells it Kaeli), she was born in June and we got our picture taken together! She was much happier than I was!!

Today is my baptism! Father Joe who married my mom & dad baptized me at St. Sebastian and all my relatives and friends came. Too bad I cried & cried! I did have a nice long white gown on though, and special booties from Croatia. I did like when Fr. Joe poured the water on my head!

Today is my daddy's 30th birthday! I got him new golf clubs so he can try to beat my mommy! Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner without me for the first time (boohoo!) and Auntie Lynne came and babysat. I was so good I slept the whole time!

Tonight mommy & daddy went to the place that they met - the Harp & Fiddle to celebrate daddy's 30th birthday. I went to Aunt Bridget and Uncle Matt's house so they could watch me & I slept the whole time - from 6 pm to 10:30 p.m. Mommy was really worried and was going to wake me up but she didn't so I kept sleeping until 3 am! Boy was I hungry when I woke up!!

Mommy & I went to church today b/c its our feast day - the feast of St. Cecelia! Its also the feast day of my grandma Burke who mommy says was a great mom to her and my aunts! Fr. Joe had the mass & his voice is so soothing I slept right through it!

This morning mommy took me into her office so she could go to a meeting. Auntie Lynne watched me the whole time (I slept!). Then when I woke up I met mommy's friends and started to put my fingers in my mouth for the first time - they taste good!

I'm one month old today!

Mommy's girlfriends from Ohio State came to visit this weekend - they live in Texas, Boston, Chicago and Pennsylvania. We went to the park and then they made dinner and held me all day! Mommy was so excited to see them!

I went back to the dr today for a weight check (mommy is worried I'm not gaining any weight) but I did - I was 8lbs 7 oz which is good!

Today daddy had to go back to work and we missed him all day! But it was my first Halloween so I went over Aunt Kelly's house and went trick-or-treating with Trinity, Joe, Sydney and Patrick! Then, when I got home my cord fell off! Daddy was at the Steeler game so mommy called him in the middle of it with the big news!

Mommy and Daddy took me to my first mass at St. Sebastian Church today at noon! Fr. Clint had the mass and prayed for all the people that were sick and have gotten better and the new babies. Mommy was crying alot during mass, I liked the music so I slept!

My first doctor's appointment & I regained my birth weight so I am 7 lbs 10 oz - 50th percentile!! Yea! Doctor said everything is fine!

Oh No, they are sending me home with these two people that have been with me for the last 5 days - I hope they know what they are doing b/c I like to cry alot!!

Home from the hospital and life as we know it has changed (for the better!)

WAAAAA!! I can't believe you made me come out into this cold air! I was so nice and warm inside, but wait, there are some really nice people out here that keeping looking at me & wrapping me up in nice warm blankets. And I have a hat on my head too! Ok, I guess I'll stay out here! Thanks mom and dad for a great 9 months!! Here I come world!!

Caileigh took her sweet time arriving into the world. After pushing for 3 hours we ended up with a c-section and out she came screaming at 10:14 p.m. We named her Caileigh (Gaelic means "slender one") Cecelia which is my wonderful mother's middle name and my patron saint! We cried when we saw her for the first time - John got to hold her while the surgeon was finishing - it was wonderful. Then I took a small detour to the recovery room & ICU while John told all of our relatives that were anxiously waiting and waiting and waiting!! Two days later (after I made it out of ICU), we were all reunited on the maternity ward & life began for the Duffy Family!!

Thanks to everyone - you'll never know how much your prayers and support meant!!

Hey- what's going on? Its feels like I am starting to move around and I'm not ready to leave yet! I think I'll stay inside a few more days!

Ha Ha ! I fooled everyone - today is the day I am supposed to be born but I'm not ready to come out yet. Its nice and warm in here & I can eat whenever I want! I think I'll stay inside for a little while longer.

Well its only one month until I am supposed to make my way into the big world! Mommy had a couple showers and got all kinds of neat things for me & my room. Daddy painted my room yellow, with purple and green stripes - it looks great! Everyone is excited to meet me!

Today mommy & daddy saw me for the first time through an ultrasound test. I was sucking my thumb & squirming all around. They didn't want to find out if I was a girl or boy so it will be a big surprise. I wonder if when I'm born they'll recognize me from my first pictures?

Today my mom & dad found out that they were expecting me! Mom was really happy & daddy was a bit shocked (mom woke him out of a deep sleep to tell him!). I'm supposed to arrive on Thursday, September 29th so there's lots of time for me to grow between now & then!
